I had such a wonderful day capturing the wedding of these two wonderful people. It’s no secret that their wedding was booked in a hurry due to Luke’s awful diagnosis; so being the person chosen to capture such an important day in their personal history is an honour I will carry for the rest of my life.
On a personal note, I would just like to admire the couple for the incredible outlook, sense of humour, love, strength and support they have in their relationship. It speaks volumes about a couple who can still live for the happy times even in times of distress.
Delivering their photographs and highlight video to them was one of the most nervewracking experiences I’ve ever had as a photographer; but their comments were nothing more than lovely, heart-warming and absolutely meant the world to me.
They were married on 25th October 2022 at Cleethorpes Registry Office. We started our day with Beckey at the hair salon before I headed over to Beckey & Luke’s home to get the shots of Luke’s party getting ready.
As Beckey walked down the aisle, arm in arm with both her father and step-father, I couldn’t take my eyes off Luke and how much emotion he was brimming with. Their little boy Taylor brought them their rings, evoking a huge “awww” from everyone around. He did a wonderful job, and even chose to stand with Mum and Dad while the ceremony came to a finish.
Everyone stood to cheer the newlyweds as they made their excited and emotional exit from the ceremony room. We got a few quick pictures of the couple while they had a moment alone before their very keen yet patient guests joined us outside. The children enjoyed playing with the confetti and after a few family formals we all made our way to the reception location at Cue World.
The newlyweds and their guests let their hair down and enjoyed a bouncy castle, a sweet cart and lots of dancing. We got shots of all of their details they’d put so much effort into and everyone gathered around to watch them cut the wedding cake. David and I said our thanks, goodbyes and left everyone to enjoy the celebration without worrying about the cameras!
