A Day of Love and Laughter at Bardney Hall – Charlotte & Lloyd

Charlotte & Lloyd – What absolute marriage goals! They never stopped laughing or smiling the entire day and it was extremely infectious! They were both so laid back and enjoying themselves that their couples photos nearly didn’t even happen! It was so fantastic to finally work with the amazing team at Bardney Hall for the first time.

Their top tip: “Make sure to make time for yourselves in the planning process as you can get lost in it and forget about the reason why you are marrying each other.”

The Beginning

A joyful bride and groom sit in a convertible car, toasting with champagne glasses. The bride wears a white lace dress and veil, holding a bouquet of red roses, while the groom is in a blue suit and beige vest with a red boutonnière. Charlotte says “Me and Lloyd both met while we were working at a Supermarket. We were both friends for 5 years as I was living in Lincoln studying, and one day he drunkenly asked me on a date and the rest is history.”

The Engagement

“New Year’s Day, on the sofa watching Home Alone my favourite Christmas film.”

“We are most excited to be announced as husband and wife!”

We started the day with Lloyd and his groomsmen in his home in Scunthorpe! The guys were super keen to get their prep shots (which made a refreshing change to be honest!) The dress rehearsal went swimmingly, it’s always good to check everyone’s trousers fit and that no one’s lost a shoe or anything!

You know, I’d say it was just as much Charlotte & Ellie’s day as it was Charlotte & Lloyds! I absolutely loved the vibe and the bond between these two; far exceeded bride and maid of honour, these two girls are soul mates through and through! The ladies got ready just a few doors down from Lloyd with brother-of-the-bride Jason who very kindly gave up his home for the morning!

Charlotte and Lloyd were married at St Peter’s Church, Bottesford by one of the nicest and genuine reverends I’ve ever had the pleasure to meet. Shout out to Reverend Dyke (AKA Rev. Kev.!”) The newlyweds said their “I do’s” and made their rockstar exit followed by a confetti walk!

Family Photo Time

Family photos were held back at Bardney Hall after a drink and ice cream cocktail hour! Everyone played with garden games and the kids were able to run around and burn off some steam as they patiently waited for dinner time!

Wedding breakfast & Speeches

Bardney Hall’s wedding breakfast room looked absolutely gorgeous in the couples royal blue theming. They even had a friend who made each of the beautifully presented wedding favour boxes by hand, must have taken forever! There were three speeches, Jason (brother of the bride), followed by the man himself, Lloyd and to cap it all off, a joint best man speech by Ian & Kyle.

“We chose a vintage wedding l as I had inspiration from my grandma and grandads wedding whom unfortunately couldn’t be with us on the day.”

I don’t think any amount of money in the world would have stopped these two from giggling! Their energy was so high and it was so easy to work with them, minimal effort on my part to get those natural smiles (in between all of Lloyd’s memeing!)

An outdoor cake cut! That’s a first for me but you know what, it was awesome! The evening lighting really brought the whites and blues together beautifully.

First dance

Their first dance was a really unique one to witness! On the grounds at Bardney Hall, a circle of their loved ones waving sparklers as the newlyweds capped off the most amazing day with their first dance. Excellent decision, both!

“Our first dance is going to be to Can’t help falling in love by Elvis Presley.”
