Unique Spin on a Sunny September Wedding in Cleethorpes – Kirsty & John

Congratulations to Kirsty & John who tied the knot at Cleethorpes Registry Office! There is so much flexibility for a wedding in Cleethorpes, and these two absolutely made the day their own!

The Beginning

The woman has long, wavy hair and is wearing a black sweater. The man has short hair, a beard, glasses, and is wearing a dark hooded sweatshirt. I was lucky enough to meet this incredible couple before their wedding for their engagement shoot! Kirsty said it really helped ease the nerves and give them both an idea of what to expect from me on the day. We’d spent hours on the phone together chatting like old friends before the big day!

“Initially we met online, though first date was at uni for a coffee. We went to Pizza Hut the next day and have not been apart since.”

The Engagement

“We went to Manchester for our 7 year anniversary and went to the Christmas market. I always said if he was to propose please don’t do it in front of loads of people as I embarrass easily. So he waited until we were back at the hotel getting ready for dinner when he whipped out the ring in a box and asked me to marry him. I was so stunned I froze and he had to ask me again; and of course, I said yes!”

“We’re most looking forward to seeing each others faces when I walk down the aisle, to marry our person and then my first shot of tequila rose and getting to swap my shoes out for some flats to dance in!”

We started the session at Kirsty & John’s house in Cleethorpes; and I was met with one of the most relaxed bridal prep environments I’ve ever seen! If Kirsty was nervous, she hid it so well; or maybe the several empty bottles helped keep everyone relaxed?!

Kirsty & John said their “I do”s at Cleethorpes Registry Office and made a fabulous bubble exit in lieu of confetti! Absolutely loved this! We then headed off to various photo locations including the Cleethorpes Navy Arch, Humberston Country Park and finally, McDonalds drive through for some refreshments!

We paid a surprise visit to Auntie Josie in her care home! Auntie Josie was expecting them to video chat her from the reception, her face lit up with overwhelming emotion when they walked in and surprised her! The nursing staff were on hand with glasses of champagne and were all equally emotional to witness such a precious moment.

We moved onto the reception at Wilton Fields where everyone was celebrating while they waited for the newlyweds. After a brief drink break, we got the rest of the family photos!

“An autumnal theme (though it will still be Summer😬) Initial theme we had joked before getting engaged was to have a Tolkien themed wedding, which then slipped into woodland theme, so lots of green with my obsession for Halloween and Autumn slotted in.”

Kirsty & John cut the cake to the cheers of everyone in the room, then moved onto their first dance!

These two had MOVES! It was such an energetic first dance, they laughed, smiled, kissed and twirled and just really went for it which made all the difference for their photos!

“Our first dance is going to be to a mash up of “Still Into You” by Paramore. Starting with an acoustic version by Isabella Kensington then into the original sang by Hayley Williams. Love the lyrics, love Paramore, and wanted something alternative.”

We ended the day with my Photo Roulette Game and got some hilarious photos! Great wedding, congrats guys you nailed it your way!

Top tips from the couple

“Save up first and have an actual budget instead of bumbling along. Don’t buy the first things you see as you may not be able to return them and you will constantly change your mind. Don’t give yourself too much to do if you can.”
