I’m beyond thrilled to share some exciting news – I’ve achieved Qualified status with The Guild of Wedding Photographers! This recognition isn’t just a badge; it’s a prestigious and meaningful milestone that reflects my commitment to capturing weddings with care, creativity and authenticity; and I am over the moon to have achieved this!
“Becoming ‘Qualified’ with the Guild involves a rigorous assessment process, and Aimee is now one of only around 350 people in the Country to hold this recognition!“

For Context – What is a Guild?
Guilds have been around since Saxon times, bringing skilled craftspeople together to protect the quality and reputation of their trade. By the medieval period, they played a huge role in making sure only the best work was recognised. Traditionally, there were different levels – those who were ‘Qualified’ to work in the trade, the highly skilled ‘Craftsmen,’ and the exceptional ‘Master Craftsmen’ who could create true masterpieces.
(I’m already working on my submission for Craftsman status!)

“Our Qualified Status is aligned to standards that reflect a level of competence. ‘Qualified’ indicates knowledge of the craft to a level where the Guild of Photographers is willing to recognise the photographer as an Ambassador of the Association.”
The Guild of Photographers follows the same idea, ensuring high standards in photography through its qualification process. It’s all about upholding the craft and recognising photographers who are dedicated to their skill!
The Qualified Application Process
If you think they just take a quick look at your website and send over the good news – think again! The submission process has some very specific requirements. To apply, I had to submit exactly 21 images: 7 from 3 different weddings I’ve photographed over the past year. Each set needed to showcase a full wedding day while maintaining consistency in my style, so every image had to be chosen with extreme care!

The judges don’t just glance at the images – they zoom in to 100% (which is massive with these images!) checking every tiny detail for technical perfection. They assess everything, from composition (how the elements are arranged for a visually pleasing shot) to white balance (the overall colour temperature of the light). It’s an intense process, but one that ensures only high-quality work gets recognised!
