About Aimee
Your friendly neighbourhood photographer
What’s your photography style?
My style is down-to-earth, naturally romantic fine art photography – I look out for luscious light, striking shadows, creative angles, situational framing and above all; genuine emotion.
The fun and relaxed environment I create puts you and your loved ones at ease, so you can fully enjoy and immerse yourself in your day.
When you and your future generations look back on your photos, I want you to remember not just what the day looked like, but really feel the emotion woven into each image. My role is so much more than just documenting your day, it’s about artistically preserving it.
I’d recommend a good look through my portfolio!
Soo… how’d you end up in photography?
Photography has been a huge part of my life since I was a little girl, our family was huge on home videos and my Gran had enough photo albums to fill a library. There was always one of us capturing what was going on, it’s been hard wired through the generations.
I was always an artistic kid, and having an engineering background helped because photography is the perfect blend of science and art. It’s physics; speed, distance and light paired with a creative mind, a sentimental personality, practised hands and my own signature perspective on the world!
“The greatest scientists are artists as well.”
– Albert Einstein.
FAQ’s >
Who am I?
I’m an extroverted introvert, a night owl, I fall in love with book characters, I cry unapologetically at the cinema, I text with proper spelling and grammar, I’m quick with a joke, I can solve Rubik’s cubes and recite the alphabet backwards, I married a chef because I’m smart and will never have to cook Christmas dinner, I love banter and sentiment and I do a little happy dance whenever someone books me.
Where did I come from?
Former computer technician and customer service advisor, then I qualified as an electrical engineer in 2017 – but after years at uni going for perfect grades; it didn’t feel like it was really me. During the 2020 lockdown the industry was looking bleak; and being out of work on maternity I realised if I was going to make a fresh start to my career doing something I loved, it was now or never!
What should we expect?
My reviews will back me up when I say it’s my goal to remain as unnoticed as possible! I’m the photographer who stands way back, getting sneaky photos of people while they aren’t aware of me!
I’m a storytelling photographer, I want to tell your story, not tell you how to write it. I focus on real people, in real moments, showing real emotion as they naturally would.
It’s not in my nature to tell people how they should act; I’m very laid back and like to keep things a bit more casual. The last thing I want to do is give you additional pressure by treating you like a performer, but if you have a creative idea you’d like to try I’m totally up for it!
What do you do in your spare time?
When I’m not photographing, editing; I’m a (relatively) normal woman! I have a husband, a son, a daughter, I play videogames, catch up on housework, read, spend time with my nearest and dearest, doomscroll on TikTok, binge Netflix, take Pilates classes and I’m also trying to find time to go back to kickboxing!
I also keep my Wedding Blog updated. I share real wedding stories to inspire future newlyweds and lots of wedding tips to help with the planning process. I also wrote a wedding planning guide that has helped so many of my lovely couples.
Which areas do you cover?
I live in Cleethorpes in North East Lincolnshire, my office address is in Grimsby, but I’ll travel pretty much anywhere for a stunning venue and a good wedding!
