Copyright
Easy, human terms for how you can use your photos — and how others can get permission.
The Short Version
- I (Aimee Lince Photography) own the copyright to every image I create.
- Clients get a personal licence: print as many as you like, share with family, and post on socials (with credit).
- No commercial use (ads, brochures, vendor websites, magazines) without written permission.
- Please don’t edit beyond small crops or tiny exposure tweaks—no heavy filters, AI edits or removing my watermark if present.
- Vendors/venues: you’re welcome to use images with a licence + credit (details below).
- Not sure? Ask first — I’m nice, and I reply quickly: email me.
Please visit Gov.uk/copyright for information on UK copyright law.
Your License (For Clients)
This is what you can do with your gallery:
- Prints for yourselves, family and friends (at any lab).
- Copy and back-up your images online or on physical drives such as USBs.
- Personal sharing: email, WhatsApp, private galleries.
- Personal blogs or website pages must include credit + link.
- Social media: Instagram, Facebook, TikTok etc. Social media crediting is not compulsory for the paying clients, however if you are kind enough to do so anyway, please credit:
- Facebook: Aimee Lince Photography
- Instagram tag: @aimeelince
- Website: https://aimeelince.co.uk
Things not included (please ask first):
- Commercial use (advertising, product pages, paid promotions).
- Publishing in magazines/blogs that sell ads (I’m happy to submit on your behalf).
- Entry into competitions/awards.
- Creating NFTs/AI training, or using images in AI generators.
Edits: please avoid heavy filters/colour changes that alter my style. Minor crops, straightening and tiny exposure tweaks are okay. If you want something changed, I offer retouch requests within the 14-day period beginning the date of gallery delivery.

- How many: as many as you like.
- How often: as often as you like.
- Requirements:

- Website: https://aimeelince.co.uk
Extended/Commercial Vendor Licence (paid)
- For advertising (Meta/Google/print ads), hero banners, packaging, and unlimited image selects.
- Per-business, per-wedding or annual options available.
- Quick, friendly invoice + licence document.
- Email me for a quote — most small businesses find it very affordable.
Press & Blogs
Editorial features are welcome. Please contact me for high-res and credits or I can submit directly to the publication/blog.
Watermarks, Metadata & Credit
- Watermarks are used for the public-facing online galleries and do not appear on gallery downloads, or on USB-delivered photos.
- Files include IPTC metadata with my name, email and this page link. Please keep metadata intact.
- Preferred credit: “Photo: Aimee Lince Photography” and tag on socials.
Retouching & AI
- Please don’t apply heavy presets/filters that change colours/skin tones, or use AI tools to edit/generate versions of my work.
- Need background tidies or object removal? I offer Advanced Editing as an add-on and one-off retouch quotes — just ask.
Model Releases & Privacy
- I may share images on my website/portfolio/socials. If you prefer extra privacy, tell me — I’m happy to keep images offline or limit what I show.
- For minors and vulnerable guests I use extra care.
- I never sell client data. See my Privacy Policy for the boring-but-important details.
Prints & Labs
- You’re free to print where you like. For best colour, use the pro lab integrated with your gallery shop. You can explore this small sample gallery to see live print prices.
- If a lab asks for a “copyright letter,” email me — I’ll provide one.
Copyright FAQ’s
Do we own the copyright to our photos?
No. By UK law, the photographer owns copyright. You receive a perpetual personal licence to use your images as described above.
Can we give photos to our suppliers?
Yes — please send them this page. Vendors can use images with credit under the Complimentary Vendor Licence, or ask me for an extended licence.
Can a magazine/blog publish our wedding?
Absolutely! Email me and I’ll handle the submission, credits and file delivery.
Can we edit the photos?
Cropping and light filters are fine. Please avoid heavy filters/colour changes. Ask me within the 14-day revision period if you want something adjusted — I’m happy to help.
What counts as “commercial use”?
Anything that promotes or sells a product/service (ads, brochures, product pages, venue listings). That needs a licence.
We lost the files — help!
I archive for a reasonable period but can’t guarantee lifetime storage.
All galleries are live for one-year from date of delivery and are delivered to the client on a physical USB once the revision period is over. It is highly recommended you make back-ups of your own photos in case of loss or damage to the physical drive.
Ask ASAP and I’ll do my best to help.
