This year’s Easter shoot with the Jones family meant a lot. I had the honour of stepping in for David Jones—beloved dad, husband, photographer, and friend—who we lost far too soon last year. I’ve known the Joneses for a long time, and it was both emotional and joyful to continue this annual tradition in his memory. We headed to Cleethorpes Country Park, where the daffodils were out in full force and the kids were high on sunshine and chocolate bunnies.

The boy, with short blond hair, beams too, donning a white sweater with a bear design. This session was something truly special. After editing the photos in my own style, I went back and edited them again in David’s—doing my best to reverse-engineer the look he gave his work. I wanted to honour the way he saw the world, and the way he captured his family. I also wanted to ensure their annual photos all matched the way they were intended. These images carry a little bit of both of us in them, but mostly, they’re for him—for the friend we lost, and the love he left behind.

Why book a family session?

Family photos become timeless keepsakes, and the experience of a family photoshoot itself strengthens the bonds between you all as you work together to create something meaningful. It boosts self-esteem, nurtures family dynamics, and creates art that brings warmth and personality to your home.

The photos are also great to have on standby for ordering personalised gifts for your loved ones.

Cleethorpes Country Park is a little gem—tucked just far enough away from the hustle to feel peaceful, but open and bright, perfect for springtime shoots. The daffodils there bloom in thick, golden waves that make the whole place feel enchanted, especially when little feet are running through them, giggling and clutching half-melted chocolate. It’s the kind of backdrop that doesn’t just frame memories—it becomes part of them.
