Gemma & Nick’s summer wedding at Wootton Hall Estate was the perfect way to kick off wedding season. Sunshine poured across the grounds all day, guests gathered outdoors beneath clear blue skies, and the whole celebration had this wonderfully relaxed atmosphere from beginning to end.

Set in the Lincolnshire countryside near Ulceby, Wootton Hall combines elegant country house charm with a modern rustic barn, making it such a gorgeous venue for couples wanting a wedding that feels both luxurious and laid-back at the same time.

Morning Preparations at Wootton Hall Estate
The morning began quietly inside the bridal suite at Wootton Hall Estate while the rest of the venue slowly came to life outside in the sunshine.

Gemma and her bridesmaids spent the morning getting ready together surrounded by soft blue florals, satin robes, champagne glasses, and all those lovely little wedding details that make the start of the day feel so exciting. The bright natural light pouring through the windows made the whole suite feel calm and airy, which suited the relaxed atmosphere perfectly.

Meanwhile downstairs, Nick and the groomsmen took a much more laid-back approach to the morning preparations before guests began arriving for the outdoor ceremony.

One thing I loved about this wedding was how cohesive everything felt visually. The soft blue bouquets, elegant details, and warm summer light all worked beautifully together throughout the day without ever feeling overly styled or forced.

A Summer Wedding at Wootton Hall Estate
Wootton Hall Estate absolutely shines in summer.
The venue’s outdoor ceremony space overlooks the surrounding countryside and gives the whole day this peaceful, tucked-away atmosphere that feels completely removed from the outside world. Guests gathered outside in the sunshine before drinks and celebrations continued across the grounds throughout the afternoon.

The rustic barn styling paired beautifully with the elegant country house surroundings, creating a wedding that felt relaxed, welcoming, and effortlessly timeless all at once.
One of my favourite things about Wootton Hall is how much space couples and guests have to properly enjoy the venue. There are gorgeous gardens, open countryside views, quiet corners for portraits, and so many lovely little pockets of light throughout the estate as the day unfolds.

Golden Hour Portraits
As the sun began to lower later in the evening, we headed out into the grounds for Gemma & Nick’s newlywed portraits and honestly… summer light at Wootton Hall is ridiculous in the best possible way.
The warm golden sunlight spilling across the gardens gave everything this soft cinematic glow, while the long veil and open countryside made the whole session feel incredibly romantic without needing anything complicated or overly posed.

These quieter newlywed moments are always some of my favourites during a wedding day. After the excitement of the ceremony, drinks, speeches, and celebrations, it gives couples chance to properly pause together for ten minutes and soak everything in.

Gemma & Nick were completely effortless together. Constantly smiling, laughing, and just genuinely enjoying the moment, which made photographing them feel incredibly natural from start to finish.
