10 Unique and Memorable Wedding Guestbook Ideas

Published Mar 2023

When it comes to planning your wedding, there are so many details to consider. One of the most important aspects is the wedding guestbook as, like your photos, it provides a lasting memory of all the loved ones who attended your special day.

Instead of opting for a traditional book with lines for signatures, why not think outside the box and choose a unique and memorable guestbook idea? In this blog post, I have compiled a list of 20 creative guestbook ideas that will make your wedding truly unforgettable.

Alternative Guestbook Ideas

1) Puzzle Pieces

Wooden jigsaw puzzle pieces lie on an accessible table with a sign that reads, "Our puzzle would not be complete without you. Please sign a piece so we can remember those who came." The larger piece is engraved with "Mr & Mrs Moseley 22 07 2023." A pen rests beside the sign. © Aimee Lince Photography - Wedding photographer in Lincolnshire, Yorkshire & Nottinghamshire

Have your guests sign individual puzzle pieces that you can later put together as a keepsake. It’s a fun and interactive way to involve everyone in creating a lasting memory. Bonus tip: you can frame this type of wedding guestbook too!

2) Polaroid photo album

Place a polaroid camera and a blank photo album on a table. Guests can take a picture of themselves and write a message next to it.

3) Jenga block tower

A framed sign on a table in front of a window reads, "Jenga Guestbook. Please help us build memories, sign a Jenga piece with well wishes for the Mr & Mrs." This unique wedding guestbook idea sits beside a stack of Jenga blocks, with small wooden hearts scattered on the white tablecloth. © Aimee Lince Photography - Wedding photographer in Lincolnshire, Yorkshire & Nottinghamshire

Jenga towers double as fond memories and messages of love; as well as a family game that you can play in the future!

4) Mirrors

A large mirror with a gold frame rests on a table, serving as a unique wedding guestbook adorned with written congratulatory messages in chalk. Glowing candles, black feathers in vases, and a black cloth embellish the setting. Two markers lie nearby, enhancing the warm, celebratory ambiance of the dimly lit scene. © Aimee Lince Photography - Wedding photographer in Lincolnshire, Yorkshire & Nottinghamshire

Hang this in your home and appreciate the messages of love every day! (Make sure you provide a pen that will last!)

5) Wine corks

The case is inscribed with the number "24" and below it reads "HURST" and "Michael & Lisa," resting elegantly on a white surface. © Aimee Lince Photography - Wedding photographer in Lincolnshire, Yorkshire & Nottinghamshire

Collect wine corks from friends and family and have your guests sign them. You can display them in a decorative glass jar or create a unique piece of art with them.

6) Telephone guestbook

This is a definitely a choice if you have an area of your wedding away from all the dancing and music! It’s also nice to keep the voices of your loves ones for future generations to hear.

7) Interactive game

A stapler is visible in the background on a dark surface. The map includes handwritten labels like "Canyon" and "Mines. © Aimee Lince Photography - Wedding photographer in Lincolnshire, Yorkshire & Nottinghamshire

If you’re a fan of games, this is definitely an option in lieu of a wedding guestbook! You can also frame it when it’s done.

8) Wooden shape collage

Thanks," is filled with heart-shaped pieces, all elegantly set on a white table against a brick wall. © Aimee Lince Photography - Wedding photographer in Lincolnshire, Yorkshire & Nottinghamshire

Have your guests write their names on a heart and slot it into the top of the frame. They’ll form their own unique pattern and you’ll be able to enjoy seeing just how many people love you on a daily basis!

9) Wall Art

A large wooden sign, serving as a wedding guestbook, displays the text "The Hortons Est. 120823" in elegant black cursive. Handwritten messages and signatures are scattered across it. These are fabulous if you have the wall space! You could paint it beforehand to match your wedding theme or the aesthetic of your home!

10) Figurines

A Lego man! Or any other character or figurine that takes your fancy. Maybe you saw a nice porcelain cat or a gorgeous somewhere?

I really hope this helped!

Your wedding guestbook doesn’t have to be a book; but it should be a reflection of you and your partner’s personalities. With these unique and meaningful ideas, you’ll have a lasting memory of your guests’ love and well wishes.
