A wedding on their 10 year anniversary (to the day!) Ryan & Lisa finally said “I do” at Hall Farm Hotel & Restaurant! They were joined by their parents, kids and even grandkids to spend the day and celebrate with them.
The Beginning
“We met when Lisa started coming into my bar, The Holt in Grimsby and became friends and a few months later we had a drink and the rest is history as they say.”
“After several years of being together I bought a ring and kept it in the safe at work for several months. One night I plucked up the courage a few days after Christmas and took the ring home with a Nomination charm with the words “Marry Me” inscribed on it. Lisa was sitting in the living room so I sat next to her and gave her the charm – which she opened as I slid onto the floor ready to pop the question when she said “Christmas is finished!” and slid down next to me!”
I said “What are you talking about? Have another look at what it says!” whilst not sure whether to laugh or shake my head in disbelief at what she said! (She didn’t have her glasses on though to be fair.) I then asked her but she was sat down next to me when she was still supposed to be sat on the sofa so I could get on my knee and ask and fortunately she said “Yes!” Which brings us to today after 10 years.”
Top tip from the newlyweds
“Don’t leave everything until the last minute like we have done thinking we had ages to do everything and then it just crept up on us.
Not leaving it 10 years to get married!”
The Wedding
Meet Lisa
I spent the morning in the bridal suite with Lisa, her mum, her daughter and her granddaughter and honestly it was so amazing to see the four generations have this special time together!

The Ceremony
Their ceremony was held on site, and it was so nice to see Ryan shed a tear as Lisa walked down the aisle; Lisa laughed at him and said “What you crying for?!” as she really didn’t think he would!
Cocktail hour
Hugs and high fives! Everyone congratulated the newlyweds and enjoyed a nice cold drink in the sunshine.

I took Ryan and Lisa out just before sunset to get that beautiful evening light, we had some laughs together, especially when a bird pooed right on my forearm while the newlyweds were on the bridge! Hopefully that’s a lucky sign for their marriage!

Why choose Hall Farm Hotel for your big day?
As a wedding photographer I have the pleasure of working at so many different venues for weddings of all shapes and sizes. Hall farm is a great choice for those who want a smaller number of guests there for the full day, and to have everything under one roof from prep to party!
You can spend the night in one of the modern rooms immediately across the courtyard or in one of the cottages just the other side of the building.
Hall farm has this timeless rustic charm that compliments any wedding theme, and there are some beautiful spots for your wedding photos, including on the jetty if you’re brave enough!
