Hirst Priory Doncaster – Hybrid Wedding Photography – Paige & Adam

We kicked off 2023 with the wedding of Paige & Adam! The couple had planned a secret elopement and surprised all of their unknowing guests at their Hirst Priory reception (under the guise of a 30th birthday party!) when they were announced into the room as “The new Mr & Mrs Heap!”

Like most weddings, we began with the bride Paige at her very own salon Blush Avenue in Brigg, where Paige and her lovely mother and bridesmaids were excited for the day. They were so incredibly friendly and relaxed as they welcomed me into the room with my cameras!

Paige gave each of them a lovely black and gold giftbag full of trinkets for the day ahead, including personalised coat hangers, t-shirts, slippers and even a plushie bunny for the little one.

I headed over to the mother-of-the-groom’s house where Adam and the groomsmen were all getting ready together. They drank whiskey and enjoyed cigars as they all got ready for the day ahead as cool as cucumbers. They had to disappear quickly before the ladies arrived to get dressed!

They were a very fun and funny bunch and I had a great time getting their candid shots, but I think my favourite part about being with them was watching the young boys getting themselves ready and their cheeky smiles as they ran around playing together!

Paige looked absolutely gorgeous in her beautiful white lace dress with corset back. I got some lovely candid photos and video clips of her mother and sister helping her get dressed. Paige also had a stunning cape that she wore with her dress, I honestly wish I’d known those existed when I got married!

Once Paige was ready, and the American truck had arrived, I went downstairs and got everyone into position ready for Paige to make her romcom staircase entrance, it felt like it genuinely happened in slow motion! Paige’s young son teared up at the sight of his mother looking like a real princess and she gave him a reassuring kiss on the cheek, which put a lovely smile on his face!

We cleared the room, then invited Dad in to see his daughter. Paige fanned her eyes to hold back the tears as Dad stood there holding his throat unable to speak. The two embraced and no words were needed, it was truly beautiful to behold and I may or may not be tearing up myself while writing this!

The couple had a beautifully small and intimate ceremony at 3:30pm at St. Marys Church, Wrawby, Brigg. Only immediate family got to witness the couple tie the knot, and I think they were lucky enough to have quite possibly the coolest reverend I’ve ever met!

There were no hymns, but the reverend gave a wonderful speech about tattoos, commitment and permanence!

The register was signed, the marriage was blessed and the couple beamed as they walked back up the aisle as newlyweds.

My favourite part of any wedding day is seeing the “we did it!” smile on the couple as they exit the ceremony. Paige even raised her bouquet and cheered as they did so (see the highlight video above!)

The newlyweds received lots of cheers and beeps from passing cars! We even managed a timed confetti throw, which is always an amazing shot to get! We got some lovely family formals in the churchyard just in time before the sky darkened, the rain began and everyone ran to their vehicles!

The couple made their surprise newlywed staircase entrance at Hirst Priory and surprised each guest who thought they were attending Paige’s 30th birthday party!

They were greeted with smiles, tears and hugs all around and the party quickly began! The best man and groom made their speeches, the couple cut the cake, had their first dance (which was half romantic, half rave!) and we all headed down to the basement for photos (which isn’t as creepy as it sounds, I promise!)

It’s a very busy day for any couple; so I like to make sure they have around 10 minutes to just be alone and undisturbed – stealing them for photographs is a perfect opportunity for this!

We absolutely had to make use of the lovely archway at Hirst Priory, which Paige said is the reason she chose the venue!

Sparkler walks are so much fun for the couple but they have to be timed absolutely perfectly! I spoke to the couple and we agreed to make the call that this would be the perfect ending for the video, but that didn’t stop me from pulling a few stills for their photo collection!

As always, I collected a few little bits from their day to put with their USB. In this one we have their confetti complete with label and some gold, black and white rose petals from the reception.

For those of you who don’t know, I deliver all videos and galleries online as well as include a lovely keepsake such as this for each couple.

It was such a fun wedding and I’m so thrilled I got to be a part of it! Congratulations Mr & Mrs Heap, all the best for your future together!
