Botanical Stallingborough Grange Hotel Wedding – Natasha & Dale

How many weddings have an ice cream van?! I absolutely LOVE all of the unique little touches that Natasha and Dale had for their wedding at Stallingborough Grange.

Although we unfortunately endured on and off powercuts and showers of rain, it absolutely did not stop us from having an amazing time together!

Our Story

Tell us all about your ‘the beginning!’

We met when we worked together at the Wellow, I can’t even remember out first date as it’s been 10 years!

When and where did you get engaged?

Dale actually proposed to me twice, because the first time it went so wrong. He had planned to propose so took my best friend to the jewellers to pick out a ring and I found out, so I knew he was planning to propose, then on a night out his friend told me he was planning to do it on holiday. When we was on holiday he took me on a boat trip to propose but I was so travel sick he couldn’t do it. Dale had found out that I knew he was planning to propose so gave up and just put the ring on the table. Fast forward a few years we would always joke about his terrible proposal that was doomed from the start, then he surprised me with another, he put an picture in an envelope in each room in the house, combined with a message about the memory and how he remembered it and what it meant to him, then at the final room he got down on one knee again!

What style/theme have you chosen for your wedding?

It’s all green and glass, I just think it looks pretty.

What are you most looking forward to on the day?

Celebrating with everyone, we’ve been together for such a long time that everything will be special.

What are your top tips for other nearly-weds?

Don’t worry about pleasing other people, make sure it’s everything that you want.

Why choose Stallingborough Grange Hotel for your big day?

As a wedding photographer I have the pleasure of working at so many venues and have the privilege of working with lots of incredible staff. From ‘prep to party’ it can all happen at Stallingborough Grange; it’s a perfect blend between the traditional and the modern.

They are a family owned business who look after you, your guests and your staff alike. They’re kind enough to never say no when I flutter my eyes at them for a coffee!

Cutlery is neatly arranged, and green napkins are placed beside each setting. The hotel itself is like a larged thatched cottage looking building with a cosy rustic bar and restaurant; upstairs the rooms are all light and modern but with twists of glamour and a timeless charm throughout. These rooms make a great area for your pre-wedding photos, and the honeymoon suite is stunning.

The Buttercross Suite is the huge dedicated wedding building, where you can have your ceremony and reception all in one place. The staff can transform the place while your guests enjoy cocktails and canapés outside. It’s neutrally decorated with a chandelier and the ceiling lighting can be changed to suit your colour scheme. A perfect blank slate for those with their own vision!

I hired Aimee for my wedding day and from the first communication she was brilliant, she made us feel comfortable and the photos she produced were beautiful, she was always quick to reply to any questions I had, friendly, reliable and just a great photographer! Thank you, Aimee!
