The Oaklands Hall Hotel Wedding – Loren & Bailey

A day of sunshine, bouncy castles and dancing at The Oaklands Hall Hotel in Laceby, Grimsby for Loren & Bailey! What an amazing couple, so kind, so fun, so loving and so energetic! I had such a great time with them both!

The Beginning

“We met on a college induction day, we kept running into each other and catching each other’s eye. Bailey messaged me not long after and that’s where it all started. Our first date was a McDonalds, on a Wednesday afternoon from College.”

The arrangement includes green leaves and sprigs of pale pink foliage, adding texture to the composition. Soft lighting enhances the romantic atmosphere. © Aimee Lince Photography

“We got engaged at my Mum and Stepdads house on 17th January 2021.”

I also learned that this was the third time lucky! Bailey had had two proposal plans interrupted due to Covid, I’m glad he was persistent!

Top tip from the newlyweds

“Do what you want and stick to it.”

The Wedding

Meet Bailey

Seven men in matching gray suits with pink ties stand on the grass at Oaklands Hall. In a garden with black wooden fencing and brick houses, some wear boutonnieres. They display various expressions and poses, several smiling directly at the camera, capturing the joyful spirit of a wedding day. © Aimee Lince Photography

The day started with Bailey at his dad’s house in Grimsby. The guys were all already dressed and rearing to go when I got there (aside from the two groomsmen who had suit emergencies!) We had some time there before heading to Cleethorpes to Bailey’s mum’s house, who had a beautiful and sentimental gift for him.

If you’ve seen any of my previous Real Wedding Stories; you’ll know I always start with the guys first because they get ready a lot quicker (sorry girls, it’s true!) and it’s much easier for them to take their jacket off again and relax if they want to!

Meet Loren

Next I went to Loren & Bailey’s home to get those must-have bridal prep shots! It’s always a pleasure to see my childhood friend Jade Clay Hair & Make-up who as always, did an incredible job at making the girls look absolutely spectacular!

We had a lovely private bridal reveal moment with Loren’s dad, which is always a really nice shot to get. Loren wore a beautiful gown by Coates Couture Bridal and looked an absolute vision!

The Ceremony

Loren and Bailey said their “I do’s” at Cleethorpes Registry Office. It really felt like once the initial (and understandable!) nerves were out of the way they really let themselves feel the moment. They were both all smiles and giddiness! I hope they both know just how much they light up the room!

Cocktail hour

A newlywed couple exits Oaklands Hall, bathed in sunlight, as guests shower them with confetti. The bride dazzles in a white gown, the groom sharp in his suit. We moved on instantly to The Oaklands to get the party started! We had a bouncy castle and outdoor games.

Loren and Bailey couldn’t wait for their couples portraits, so we did them right away! We chatted and laughed so much and it was even more special when their doggo joined in on the fun! Usually the evening light is better, but we got lucky with the cloudy sky!

Family Photos

We made use of the lush green grounds at The Oaklands for our family photos. Personally I think nature will always win for these timeless family portraits!

Wedding breakfast

The Oaklands offers a decorated wedding reception room with round tables featuring white tablecloths and chairs adorned with green sashes. Each table has elegant place settings and floral centerpieces, perfect for capturing stunning wedding photos. “Our colours are sage green, blush pink and white. We have chosen a colourful and romantic theme with lanterns and log slices.”

Speeches

Speeches were held before the meal in the reception hall; first we had Loren’s dad, followed by Bailey, their best man, Loren’s mum and finally Bailey’s mum! I think we just about saw every emotion and facial expression possible!

Cheers to the newlyweds!

Reception

They owned The Oaklands dancefloor and soon enough they were joined for a knees-up by almost everyone in proximity! To cap it all off, we had sparklers outside on the grounds! Even their little ones managed to hang in there to see the beautiful scene. I hope Loren and Bailey know just how much love I witnessed surrounding them all day. Congratulations again guys and thanks for choosing me to capture your wedding day!

Why choose The Oaklands Hall Hotel for your big day?

As a wedding photographer I have the privilege of spending my days exploring the local venues with the most amazing teams of wedding staff. The Oaklands in Laceby, Grimsby is a classic British house in the country; and with three different rooms for special occasions, it can cater for weddings of all sizes and styles.

A grayish-green background with elegant, cursive white text in the center reads, "Image Placeholder." The corners of the image have small white notches, adding a slightly framed effect. Perfect for showcasing wedding photography in Lincolnshire or Yorkshire, the overall appearance is minimalist and modern. © Aimee Lince Photography

The outdoor locations are spacious and with both open and shaded areas are great for your wedding photographs and the balcony patio overlooking them is lovely.
