A beautiful summer wedding at Laceby Manor – Lara & Joe

A huge thank you to Lara & Joe for choosing me to document their big day at Laceby Manor! I absolutely loved the vibe of your entire day, everyone was in such high spirits, laughing, smiling or dancing wherever you looked! It was an absolute pleasure partying with you all! Laceby Manor is such an amazing venue to work with and the staff are all so lovely.

Our Story

Tell us all about your ‘the beginning!’

I moved in to my house in August 2020 and needed some works undertaken to the trees next to the house, I was given joes details as someone who could do this. Joe came and gave me a quote and it was too expensive so I asked for reduced works and he asked to come back to look at the tree on a Saturday evening…. at 7pm…. in October and therefore in the dark. Unbeknownst to Lara, Joe was coming at that time to see if she had a partner or if she was single (very sly, Joe!) and Lara didn’t cotton on! Joe did the works needed then started coming round for tea and to ‘catch up’ as Joe and Lara used to live around the corner from each other as children. Come December, Joe started to make it clear what his feelings were and Lara kissed Joe. The country went into another Covid lockdown in the January and so Joe stayed with Lara and the rest is history!

When and where did you get engaged?

Joe proposed in our bedroom in September 2020. He used the diamonds from Lara’s grandmothers engagement ring and had these made into a new ring (picked together with Lara).

What style/theme have you chosen for your wedding?

Romantic/rustic/elegant, bridesmaids will be in sage green. Colours are sage green/ yellows/whites/pink/rose gold.

What are you having your first dance to?

Is That Alright? – by Lady Gaga

What are you most looking forward to on the day?

Seeing Joes face when I walk down the aisle and becoming man and wife.

What are your top tips for other nearly-weds?

Just focus on how this is your day, no one else’s.

Go with what you and your partner want and don’t let anyone try to influence you from that.

Weddings are super stressful.

But most of all just enjoy it all.

I chose to bring out those gorgeous greens and give the footage a warm and cosy feel to match the glorious weather we had! I just love the shot of Joe fighting to hold it all together once the kids start walking down the aisle, and their newlywed segment was just a joy to shoot! I had so many options for clips to work with it was really hard to choose! The grounds at Laceby Manor are so plentiful and (like Lara & Joe!) an absolute joy to work with.

Why choose Laceby Manor for your big day?

As a wedding photographer I have the pleasure of working at so many lovely venues and have the privilege of working with lots of incredible staff. Laceby Manor is a great setting for your day; from your red carpet welcome to the fireworks out on the grounds.

There’s a large upstairs reception area with a private bar, a piano and a balcony; perfect for a BBQ in between dancing. Outside there is a patio and a huge landscape for your wedding photos including a large pond with a bridge. It’s a lovely venue and definitely one suited for more a larger guest list.

“We booked Aimee to video our wedding at Laceby Manor following meeting with her at the wedding Fair in Grimsby. What can I say about Aimee? Well for starters she is simply a lovely person. She puts you at ease straight away and you do almost forget she is there.

Aimee captured everything we could have asked her to, despite me forgetting to actually tell her some of the details! Within a few days of our wedding Aimee has already sent us our highlight video and it was amazing. Certainly made us emotional watching it.
Aimee communicated with me from the day of the wedding through to sending through the main video (which was done within 8 days of the wedding – a turnaround time we couldn’t have asked expected and I thought we would be waiting months before it arrived).

The video itself is simply superb. We felt like we were back in the day itself all over again and we got to see bits from our guests view points which was wonderful.

I cannot recommend Aimee highly enough. She deserves every recognition that she gets. I would also like to mention David who Aimee had to assist her. David you too were brilliant. You filmed aspects of the day we wouldn’t have seen without you there and I thank you.

5 star rating for this wonderful woman”
