Happy & Lively Wedding at The White Heart Inn Alfreton – Kylie & Tom

Good times were had last week at The White Heart Inn Alfreton where Kylie & Tom tied the knot with their closest family and friends!

We started in the bridal suite with Kylie, her bridesmaids and her mum! Hair and make-up was well on the way when I arrived, but there was loads of time for me to get those lovely pre-wedding prep shots! Kylie’s beautiful wedding dress was by Wed2B. We had a great chin-wag with Janine who was on hair duty and Hayley who was on make-up!

Their ceremony was full of laughter, even the registrar was funny! The best man got a laugh when he passed the box of rings over instead of just the one requested and it was so nice to see so much smiling and laughter!

We did a confetti walk and got the family photos rather soon after the ceremony because we were afraid the weather would turn! The boys looked super dapper in their suits by Skopes

The couple made their grand entrance and everyone sat down to a three-course meal; the beef was delicious! The speeches followed and did not disappoint with a perfectly balanced mixture of comedy and sentiment!

After letting our meals go down, I stole the newlyweds for their photo session and to give them some calm and quiet time together before their evening guests arrived! As you can see, we had some fun with it!

Lots of their guests left them messages on their audio guestbook! Which was made possible by The Photo Shack

Kylie & Tom cut their fabulous wedding cake by Emma’s Cakes and they even stole a bit of the frosting before moving onto the dancefloor!

A three-tiered cream-colored wedding cake with textured icing is adorned with blue and white roses and green foliage. Topped with a wooden "Mr. & Mrs." sign in cursive within a geometric frame, the cake sits on a wooden slice with "Mr. and Mrs. Amees" carved around the edge—a perfect centerpiece for celebrations at White Heart Inn, Alfreton. © Aimee Lince Photography

Their first dance was Nickleback, Never gonna be alone and was performed by the live band Smoothie! Smoothie were great at hyping up the guests and keeping the dancefloor lively, which is just what you want on your wedding day!

Their story

Tell us all about your ‘the beginning!’

We met at work, we were both working on board a train from Derby to London St Pancras, Tom always says i was getting in his way of making a cup of tea, Toms only priority in life, anyone who knows him knows how much tea he drinks! We went on our first date which was dinner and drinks at a restaurant near where I lived, Tom was 30 minutes late! It did turn out to be the best evening though which ended in a kiss!

When and where did you get engaged?

We went on a weekend trip to London to watch Sarah Millican, during the day time Tom made us walk around every tourist attraction until we ended up at Westminster Cathedral, it was getting dark and it was all lit up in purple lights. He got down on one knee and said there was no else he wanted to spend the rest of his life with. It was so romantic! He then went on to tell me that he couldn’t find the right moment but was running out of day light!

What style/theme have you chosen for your wedding?

Rustic, laid back, nothing to big, we are more about the holidays and experiences. We chose a navy / blues colour scheme, no particular reason just something we really liked.

What are you most looking forward to on the day?

Saying I do!

What are your top tips for other nearly-weds?

I wish someone had told me how long of a process it is, it literally feels like a lifetime, in the final weeks its been such a rush even though everything has been organised for years! Everything happens in the last few weeks which really do fly by!
