Beautiful Woodland Hirst Priory Wedding – Claire & John

Published Jun 2023

Just look at this stunning themed woodland wedding hosted by the infamous Hirst Priory. I have never seen so many fresh flowers in one place! Congratulations to Claire & John, they had a STUNNING outdoor ceremony and tipis for the reception.

Meet Claire

We started the day in the bridal suite where it was nothing but high spirits! The ladies were busy in hair and make-up so while I waited for the glam shots I started work on photographing Claire’s bridal accessories!

Make-up: Lois Whitney Beauty

Hair: 74 West Ltd

I usually do this while I wait for everyone to get used to the photographer being in the room, but everyone made me feel like a part of the bride tribe very quickly and it was so amazing to be a part of that time with Claire and her loved ones!

Claire put on her beautiful dress and I reassured her that the outdoor ceremony area looked absolutely fabulous!

That’s a proud Momma right there!

Meet John

As you can see, John and his best man Steve were just as keen to get the day going as the ladies! I generally don’t get as much time with the gents before the ceremony as they get ready so much quicker – sorry ladies, it’s true!

Still, we got on like a house on fire and I knew it was going to be a great wedding to be involved in!

Tying the Knot

The little shaded area at Hirst Priory was completely transformed into this gorgeous flowery wonderland! It looked absolutely stunning and was such a timeless and elegant setting to say “I do” – simply a wedding photographer’s dream!

Flowers: Campbell’s Flowers

What a gorgeous wedding ceremony! Of course they got absolutely covered in petals as they made their exit, it would have been rude not to! I just had to smuggle them back in for a quick photo afterwards though!

Family Photo Time

If I had to choose one photo that summed up the energy of Claire & John’s wedding, this would be the one! We got our nice formal portraits too of course, but honestly the ones where they’re being themselves and having a laugh are the best!

Wedding breakfast & Speeches

The speeches were equally hilarious and emotional! And after spending the day with them and getting to know them, I expected nothing less!

Like with all of my couples, they set the vibe and I made it look as gorgeous as possible! We had a great time together during this session, which was only about 20 minutes long (wouldn’t want them to miss their reception!)

My photo game

I knew Photo Roulette was absolutely Claire & John’s vibe; so I asked them if they wanted to play it…

Safe to say I am thrilled with the results!

Cake cut

Their cake cut was the stuff of legend! With an axe each, they smashed into it and each grabbed a piece to eat!

First dance

They had their first dance and were immediately joined by their adoring fans! The tipis were a great idea because Hirst Priory has so much space on the grounds to work with!
