Adorable Childhood Sweethearts Tie the Knot at Hall Farm Hotel & Restaurant Grimsby – Courtney & Tom

It’s always such an honour to be asked to capture true love on camera, but seeing the love between Courtney & Tom was simply next-level! After a church wedding, we let our hair down together at Hall Farm Hotel & Restaurant in Grimsby.

A bride in a white gown and a groom in a beige suit stand on a wooden bridge surrounded by lush greenery. The bride holds a bouquet and smiles, while the groom gently embraces her from behind. The background features trees and a blurred natural setting, creating a serene, romantic atmosphere.

Their colour scheme was sage green, which looked absolutely beautiful!

A wedding flat lay featuring a bouquet of white roses and greenery. Below the flowers are pearl-embellished white sandals, a lace garter, a clear perfume bottle, and a black velvet box containing delicate silver jewelry. The background is a textured green fabric.

Courtney wrote a lovely love note to Tom, which he daringly read out loud in front of everyone! I am super impressed he managed it, even if he did get a little choked up at times!

Tom in turn had a pawprint of their dog made into a bracelet and even sent Courtney a video of the process with a heartwarming message!

A man wearing a white shirt and a beige vest gently kisses the forehead of another man who is also wearing a white shirt and a beige vest. The second man has glasses and is slightly bent forward. The background is blurred, indicating an indoor setting.

Courtney & Tom’s wedding ceremony was held at All Saints Church, Waltham. They both seemed so calm and happy throughout, if they were nervous, they hid it really well!

A bride and groom stand smiling beside two vintage cars decorated with white ribbons. The bride wears a white strapless gown and holds a bouquet of flowers, while the groom is in a beige suit. The cars are parked on a road with a backdrop of lush green trees and cloudy sky.

We had our portraits shortly after arriving, and got down to some serious eating and drinking! Hall Farm Hotel & Restaurant really do the nicest sea bass! Huge thanks again to the couple for providing such a delicious meal.

You learn so much about a couple during the speeches, Courtney and Tom have been together since school. It’s not every day you get the pleasure of witnessing two childhood sweethearts get married. I’m very lucky!

A man in a beige suit sits at a table decorated with white flowers and greenery. He is holding a wine glass in one hand and covering his face with the other, appearing emotional. Behind him, a wooden wall is adorned with string lights and a neon sign that reads "always you.

After dinner, I stole the newlyweds for 20 minutes of calm so they could soak up the energy of the day, have their couples portraits done in the beautiful evening light and just take a breath together. They were absolutely buzzing, and we were all buzzing for them! We explored the Hall Farm Hotel & Restaurant grounds together and got some stunning images that they can cherish forever.

A smiling bride and groom sit at a decorated table during their wedding reception, surrounded by flowers and glasses. The groom holds up a glass of champagne, and both appear joyful. Behind them is a wooden backdrop with string lights and a neon sign partially reading "it was always.

We came back in time to cut the cake and for the reception to begin! We had Matt playing saxophone on the dancefloor and I even got to witness Tom’s dad running back from the car with a bin bag of inflatable saxophones! Talk about being prepared! It was an amazing night and I’ll be forever grateful that I got to be a part of it.

Our story

Tell us all about your ‘the beginning!’

We met at school through mutual friends way back in 2009! Funnily enough Tom had been tasked with finding out my favourite chocolate for his friend (“his friend” really was his friend, not a cover up for himself!) who had planned to win me over, but we got talking instead and the rest is history. Moral of the story: never trust Tom to be your wingman!

When and where did you get engaged?

Some would say that after almost 13 years together it had been a long time coming, but it was still a total surprise to me! In July 2023 we jetted off to Rhodes and I was completely unaware that an engagement ring was hiding in a folded up tissue waiting for its time to shine (literally).

Every night before going out for our evening meal we’d set up a tripod to take some photos for the holiday album, so 5 nights in to our week-long holiday I was none the wiser to what was about to happen as we pulled stupid faces for the camera. It was a really special moment and I’m so pleased Tom captured it so we could share it with our family and friends too. It’s a video that will always make me smile!

What style/theme have you chosen for your wedding?

We loved the idea of a rustic themed wedding with lots of greenery. Hall Farm was the perfect choice for our fairly intimate wedding with our closest family and friends. We loved the warm/welcoming feel, the wooden beams and the beautiful grounds.

What are you having your first dance to?

‘You & Me’ by Lifehouse. We’re both huge fans of the sitcom ‘Gavin & Stacey’ – it’s our go-to feel-good series and we’ve always loved this song which features in the very first episode. It’s all the more special that Tom’s sister is singing it for us!

What are you most looking forward to on the day?

Seeing one another at the end of the aisle (though if Tom answered 100% honestly, it’d likely be the cake!)!

What are your top tips for other nearly-weds?

Not to sweat the small stuff and to enjoy every step of the way! We regularly had to reality-check ourselves throughout the wedding planning process – this is a day we’ve waited a long time for and all that really matters is that we’re getting married, not whether the cake needs its own sign or what colour the confetti should be!

A joyful bride and groom share a laugh while dancing closely at their wedding reception. Both are dressed in formal attire: the bride in a white gown and the groom in a beige suit. They are surrounded by guests who are also dressed formally and appear to be enjoying the celebration.
